Tim offered to rock him to sleep so that I could get some rest. As I left the dark nursery, I handed Tim the baby orajel and told him to use it if he got fussy because maybe his teeth hurt. Tim put some on his finger and rubbed it on Baby E's gums. It took awhile, but he got the baby to sleep and the baby slept most of the night. It was wonderful!
Fast forward twenty four hours. Tuesday night, I got Baby E to sleep pretty quickly. I went downstairs and started prepping his diaper bag for the next day. As I dug through it I pulled out the baby orajel.
Wait...
Wasn't that upstairs? Didn't I hand that to Tim last night? I couldn't have because it was in the diaper bag. SO WHAT DID I HAVE TIM RUB ALL OVER BABY E'S GUMS!?!
Neosporin. Yes, you read that right! I had my husband rub Neosporin all over my teething baby's gums!!!!
In my defense, the containers are pretty similar. (did I mention I was tired and it was dark?!?)
Anyways, I did a quick google search and found out that it was pretty harmless, not that I could have done anything about it anyway, it had happened 24 hours earlier.
Part of me wonders if that is why he slept so well!
I'm really grateful he was ok and I'm kinda glad I didn't realize it the night before because I would have completely I freaked out! At least now I can laugh about it... And yes, I learned my lesson. Never hand anyone medicine in the dark!
I'm so very, very sorry Baby E!
Lol im.glad he's okay. You said I make you laugh. You make me laugh too:)
